Home Loan Marketplace
Project Information
- Category: Loan Marketplace
- Client: Home Loan Aggregator Platform
- Stack: Eligibility Matching, Offer Comparison Engine
- Delivery: Borrower-Facing Marketplace Platform
Borrowers see only the lenders they're eligible for—with structured offers to compare.
A home loan aggregator was presenting all lenders to all borrowers with no structured eligibility matching. Applicants were applying to lenders who couldn't serve them, conversion was low, and lender relationships were strained by low-quality lead flow. We built the eligibility matching and offer comparison engine that changed that.
The Challenge
The aggregator was presenting home loan borrowers with a full list of lender partners and accepting applications on their behalf—with no eligibility pre-screening and no structured offer comparison. Borrowers applied to lenders who couldn't serve their profile: wrong geography, LTV outside policy, income below threshold, property type not supported. The result was high application rejection rates, low funded volume, and lender partners frustrated by poor lead quality. The borrower experience was also poor: no indication of which lender was right for their situation, no offer comparison, and no clear next step after submitting.
What We Built
We built a home loan marketplace platform with structured eligibility matching at its core. Each applicant's profile is evaluated against each lender's eligibility matrix—LTV thresholds, minimum income requirements, property type restrictions, geographic coverage, and borrower segment filters. Only eligible lenders are shortlisted. Eligible lenders return structured offers that are presented to the borrower in a transparent comparison view: rate, processing fee, EMI, maximum loan amount, and key conditions. Borrowers select the offer that fits, and the platform routes the confirmed application to that lender.
Key Capabilities Delivered
- Structured eligibility matching against each lender's full criteria matrix
- LTV, income, property type, geography, and segment-level filtering
- Borrower-facing offer comparison with transparent rate, fee, and EMI breakdown
- Waterfall submission mode for sequential lender routing where required
- Lender integration layer: new lender partners added through configuration
- Full audit trail on eligibility decisions and application routing
The Outcome
Conversion from browse to confirmed application improved as borrowers had confidence they were seeing only lenders suited to their profile. Application rejection rates dropped as eligibility pre-screening eliminated unsuitable submissions before they reached lenders. Lender partners responded positively to the improvement in lead quality. Adding new lender partners moved from a development project to a configuration task, making the network easier to grow.
